Kenya Wildlife Safaris and Beach Holidays

Kenya is traditionally one of the most well known wildlife safari destinations in the world. ‘Safari’ means ‘journey’ in Swahili and it is in Kenya that the safari began and continues to flourish.

Kenya is a country with a great diversity, beautiful scenery, a large variety of wildlife including the “Big Five”, colorful bird and plant life and fascinating traditional cultures. The people of Kenya are welcoming and friendly. This is the ultimate safari destination.

Kenya’s main attraction is its high concentration of spectacular wildlife that still roams free in the countries many National Parks and Reserves. The Masai Mara, home to the ‘Big Five” and the spectacular wildebeest migration, it is widely regarded as Kenya’s top wildlife area. To get the best out of your safari in Kenya, you should make the combination between at least two National Parks such as Masai Mara, Tsavo, Mt. Kenya, Samburu or Lake Nakuru.

Having gained independence in 1963 Kenya has lead the way with a stable economy founded on agriculture. In the year of independence, Kenya had a small tourism industry which had developed from the Big Game hunters in earlier years, this developed rapidly during the 80's and 90's to such an extent that the various parks became overcrowded; this however has been remedied in recent years with new circuits being developed and new parks being founded resulting in the pressure being taken off certain hotspots. Kenya as an African destination has a huge amount to see and is perfect for fly camping, walking safaris, family safaris and much, much more.
